While I have been applying the finishing touches to my Concorde Build, I decided to start work on a 1:75 scale Boeing 747SP. This is the largest scale that I have ever attempted, so as with all new aircraft types I build, The first one is always an experiment so I can work out my templates, machine jigs and build processes to reduce waste and time removing excess material before hand finishing to the final shape.
The first step in the build is preparing the fuselage block which is made from a repurposed section of Oregon. I removed the aged rough sawn surfaces to reveal a clean surface for marking up the cut lines. Then cut down to the basic shape.
