ANSETT – They should have succeeded

One of the largest Australian carriers dominating the domestic market before Qantas.

B767-200 (VH-RMG) Departing on Runway 16 (not 16Right… It didn’t exist then.)

The Boeing 727 – The first Jet aircraft type to operate in the Australian domestic market, capable of flying direct from Sydney to Perth.

The workhorse of the Ansett fleet – B737-200 With the then new Sydney control tower under construction.

A new Airbus A320 and a not so new 727 waiting to lineup for a runway 25 departure. The A320 eventually replaced the aging 727 fleet.
